It is the responsibility of the permit holder to acquire a current year MVU map which shows the National Forest System roads, trains and lands in the Black Hills National Forest that are designated for motor vehicle use persuant to 36 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 212.51. Maps are available where ever permits are sold.
Black and white maps of the Black Hills National Forest Motor Vehicle Use areas are printed in January each year on standard paper by the US Forest Service. NOTE: though these maps include the Wyoming Black Hills, the BHNF MVU permit is not valid in Wyoming. A Wyoming State permit is required to ride in the Black Hills of Wyoming.
Go to www.wyotrails.state.wy.us/ORV/Rulesfor more information.
There are 2 maps to choose from -
These maps are free to the public and can be picked up at any Black Hills National Forest District Office and at the retail locations in the Black Hills that sell permits. To order online, there is a $3 shipping handling fee per map.

Thank you so much for the wonderful FREE maps. They are so handy when we forget where we are going or are to busy enjoying the view and miss that marker. It wouldn't be vacation if you didn't get lost, but thank god you have the map to get you home. Just never leave home without it.

These maps don't show the information very well, and could be better. But the mailing service was great. I received them right away after ordering. Thank you!
